What to wear to… a spring wedding

What to wear to… a spring wedding

Now that winter is finally over, wedding season is just around the corner, with the majority of couples tying the knot in spring. And, why not? Springtime is all about rebirth and renewal, which is the perfect time to celebrate one of life’s biggest milestones (not to mention pretty peonies will be in full bloom!)

So, just like the colour palette on the wedding day, you too can incorporate a colourful fresh spring edit to your outfit. While we still think we should uphold the unwritten social convention that all-white should only be reserved for the bride (unless she says otherwise), there are a myriad of other colours and outfit choices you can wear to a spring celebration.

Wedding guest outfit inspo for a springtime wedding

A spring wedding is one of the best special occasions where you can flaunt your personal style. Loose maxi dresses, linen jumpsuits, and even co-ords don’t look so out of place when you’re in attendance. After all, there’s just no expectation to glam it up and go full black-tie when everything is surrounded by florals.

However, before you reach for your prettiest sleeveless dress, remember that as the sun dips below the horizon, the night can get quite chilly. So, if you’re not into long statement sleeves, you can always come prepared with a tailored jacket or coat to complete your look.

So, what can you wear to a spring wedding?

At Billy J, we’ve come up with exactly what to wear to a spring wedding. And, believe us, when you enter the room in one of our numbers, you’re sure to stand out (without taking attention away from the bride, of course!)

Here are our suggestions:

The jumpsuits

  • Estelle Jumpsuit: Turn heads and stop traffic in the Estelle Jumpsuit. In a vibrant emerald shade and with cheeky side splits up to the thighs, it’s the perfect outfit for when you don’t want to be restricted in movement when you rip up the dance floor after speeches.
  • Kendall Jumpsuit: If you’re looking for something more structured, the Kendall Jumpsuit in navy is sure to please. With soft boning in the bust for extra support and a pleated detail on the bust, it’s ideal for those more formal spring weddings. And, look – it even has pockets!

  •

    The dresses

  • Mylee Dress: Flowers? For spring? You betcha. While it’s not exactly ground-breaking, floral patterns always look classy and sassy. Our Mylee Dress is no exception: with its shirred detailing and pretty pink pattern, this high-neck mini is sure to have you the belle of the ball (second to the bridal party, naturally).
  •

  • Sunny Daze Dress: With its satin feel fabric, our Sunny Daze Dress in mint is perfect for a spring celebration. With a tie that you can wrap around the body or finish off with a pretty bow at the front, the pastel hue is the perfect spring shade. Mint not your thing? Good news – the Sunny Daze Dress also comes in a blush shade.

    Don’t forget to accessorise

Your outfit won’t be complete without block-heel sandals or wedges (we recommend keeping the stilettos at home, as you’ll inevitably sink into the grass.) As for jewellery, you can either keep it simple and let the garment do the talking – think our Cora Earrings paired with our Evelyn Necklace – or let your outfit play second fiddle to statement drop earrings like our Arista Shell Earrings or a Pearl Hair Clip.
